Newspaper front cover analysis
For our newspaper, we chose the following stories for the following reasons:
- Prince Charles slipping and breaking his wrist
- Simplicity: The simplicity of this story is good enough to appeal to the target audience of 'unintelligent people', as a simple story, the newsworthiness of the story increases. Every red top newspaper definitely needs a form of comedy to ease up the mood of the magazine to compliment the overall newspaper.
- Prominent person: The fact that Prince Charles is the person in question instantly adds newsworthiness to the story. To the target audience, anyone with a title seems important so the word 'Prince' in big red text will definitely draw the attention of the consumer.
- Magnitude: When designing the cover, we made the choice to not specify what has happened to Prince Charles. This will add shock value to the story, as
